Get to Know Our Team

Dr Michelle Ford

Michelle is a HCPC registered Principal Clinical Psychologist, who works with children and families in specialist mental health services. She has extensive experienced working with attachment and complex trauma across a range of settings, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, particularly in or on the edge of care and in children’s residential homes, as well as their families and supporting agencies. Michelle also has extensive training in a range of psychological approaches, including CBT, systemic and psychodynamic therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

In addition to this work, Michelle supports schools, social work colleagues and residential staff with training, consultations and supervision, feeling passionately about delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention in line with up-to-date research in the field.

Janet Robinson

Janet has substantial experience working with children and young people with autism and cerebral palsy as both a qualified teacher and Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), in the education service, NHS and private SLT services. She is registered the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice, and offers support that covers: language disorder/delay, Autism Spectrum condition, speech delay/disorder and special educational needs – providing assessment, advice, therapy and liaison alongside other professionals. Having worked with children of varying ages has equipped Janet to support a variety of complex needs, including autism, dyspraxia, and language delay. When working with us, Janet will adopt a multi-disciplinary approach by providing direct and indirect consultation and advice and establish a reflective practice to ensure both herself and her team have as much opportunity to develop a support plan as possible.

Allison Devitt

Occupational Therapist (Dip COT MRCOT) Allison is our Occupational Therapist and adopts a strong client-centred approach to her work, with her experience in the industry giving her a strong understanding of working with children, young people and adults who have learning disabilities. Her duties and responsibilities include supporting children and young adults with complex needs, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

Through her work, she has provided consultations and training for parents and professionals across education, health and social care services. Her collaborative work is set in line with clinical standards and focuses on the service being delivered according to local and national protocol, guidelines, and professional standards of care.
